The European Association of Friends of Henry van de Velde was founded in 1999 in co-operation with the Belgian Embassy in Germany and the German Embassy in Belgium. Both ambassadors are patrons of the association. The association has set itself the goal of making the artistic work of the Belgian Henry van de Velde accessible to a wider circle of people in Europe, keeping the memory of the artist Henry van de Velde alive and helping to ensure that contemporary architecture and arts and crafts continue to pursue his ideas of a Gesamtkunstwerk. <\/p>\n
